TIGER AIRWAYS AND SCOOT SIGN AGREEMENT ON WIDE-RANGING PARTNERSHIP
Airlines to Offer Joint Itineraries . Singapore-based low cost airlines, Tiger Airways Singapore and Scoot, signed a Memorandum of Understanding toward deep and wide-ranging cooperation.
The initial phase of this partnership will see each carrier marketing joint itineraries between Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur, destinations served by Tiger; and Sydney and Gold Coast, served by Scoot. Customers may purchase a single itinerary for travel from Australia, via Singapore, to Tiger’s destinations.
“This is an exciting development,” said CEO of Scoot, Campbell Wilson, “Both carriers operate highly complementary networks, with Scoot focusing on medium-long haul routes of five or more hours, and Tiger focusing on shorter-haul journeys. Both airlines operate sideby- side at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, and share a common philosophy of offering fuss-free service at unbeatable value.”
“With Tiger’s move to our new den at Changi Airport Terminal 2, it’s the perfect time to leverage the strength of our networks to our customers’ benefits,” said Tiger Airways Group CEO Koay Peng Yen, “Tiger Singapore operates up to 90 flights daily. The joint itineraries and new services that we will be rolling out will greatly expand the travel options for both
Tiger and Scoot customers.”
In this initial trial, customers can purchase flight itineraries originating from Australia to popular South East Asia destinations. They will be issued a single ticket that contains all flight details. Passengers will be entitled to 15kg check-in baggage allowance on the interline itinerary.
On arrival in Singapore, customers will have to pass through immigration and collect their bags before checking into the second leg of their flight.
In the later phase, customers will be able to purchase flight itineraries originating from South East Asia. The airlines will also enhance this service with a direct connection process. Customers will be able to proceed with their onward journey without passing through immigration and without having to retrieve their checked baggage.
As the cooperation deepens in future, there could be a need for applications for anti-trust immunity, and this will be sought from the relevant regulatory authorities at the appropriate time as required.
For SGX Interested Person Transaction declaration purposes, Tiger Airways is an associate of Temasek Holdings, which is the holding company of Singapore Airlines, the parent company of Scoot. Singapore Airlines owns 32.7% of Tiger Airways.

Scoot has select ed the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine to power its 20 Boeing 787s which will be delivered from late 2014.
The engine was selected from among two competing models available for the aircraft, following a detailed evaluation of offers.
The deal includes a TotalCare services package, under which Rolls-Royce will be responsible for the provision of maintenance, repair and overhaul for the engines, as well as for spare engine support.
Scoot’s network now comprises 11 cities including Singapore, Sydney, Gold Coast, Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shenyang , Nanjing, Seoul . In conjunction with three partner airlines, Scoot offers 36 more cities for sale, bringing the total number to 47.

На этом маршруте вообще серьёзная конкуренция намечается. Перелет Скутом туда-обратно стоит примерно $150, в то время как Катай Пасифик и Сингапурцы предлагают билеты всего за $210-220.

Scoot со следующего лета заходит в Европу со своей low-cost long haul моделью. Будут летать с Афин. Могут быть хорошие стыковки Киев-Афины-Сингапур-Австралия.

вони з Сіднея в Афіни за ~$300 голий OW квиток продавали (а може і досі продають). в принципі якщо накинути стандартні послуги, то буде десь на 20% дешевше близькосхідних а/k

З 20 червня з Берліну 4 рази на тиждень Дрімлайнером на Сінгапур. Продають також квитки з Європи в Австралію від 456 євро.

Прикольная у них модель, смотрел их из Афин: билеты начинаются с копеек, но без еды и багажа.
А самолеты сплошной лоу-кост, даже IFE нет
