New service at Schiphol airport to reduce queues at security check

Passengers of Schiphol airport now can pre-book time slots for the security check. This new service is free of charge.

These pre-booked time slots are currently available to travelers flying to a destination within the Schengen Zone. Other destinations will follow shortly, noted at Schiphol.

The airport believes, the new service could reduce queues at the security check, as passengers will not arrive at the airport too early.

Travelers can reserve time slots on Schiphol’s website or mobile app 3 days before the flight. They will receive a QR code by email after the booking is completed.

Passengers should show their QR code to the airport’s staff before the security check. The staff member scans the code and directs passengers
to the dedicated lane of the security check.

Schiphol reminds: this service only applies to the security check. It means travelers still need to have enough time for their check-in and luggage drop-off.
